Yellow Seal Notes were issued to soldiers stationed in North Africa during World War II. These notes are also commonly called North Africa Notes because of this. This was done so that if the soldiers were invaded the United States could de-value this particular form of currency.

Brown Seal

Similar to the North Africa Notes these Brown Seal Notes were issued to soldiers stationed in Hawaii. Interestingly the word “HAWAII” appears on the both the front and the back of the Note as seen below.
